About Travis
Born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, singer/songwriter Travis J has extensive experience working behind the scenes – writing, publishing, recording and performing in various genres from R&B to Jazz and Gospel/CCM. He has participated in both live and studio projects with a large variety of artists including platinum-selling artists such as Hill song and Darrell Evans.
Stepping out to pursue a solo career, in 2017, Travis J began writing and performing songs that reflect the styles and soulful sounds that come natural to him. Often performing from behind a piano, those sounds have been resonating in the urban music scene of Milwaukee. Travis has won multiple competitions and awards in a short period of time, including winning the national Coast 2 Coast Live Artist Showcase competition in Milwaukee and was recently rated No. 1 R&B artist in Milwaukee on ReverbNation.com. Reflecting on his recent success, Travis J says, “Music communicates what’s inside and even how honest we are. No matter what’s happened in my life, music has always been what’s brought me back. I love getting to share it with people.” In the last few months, his music has been catching the ears of influential artists and producers in the area – leading him to collaborate with MT, Emazon, DJ Pain 1, Devito, Mech, and many others.
